The Panama Canal is a ship canal in Panama which connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The Canal is a 77.1 kilometers. The Panama Canal was built by Americans  and is inaugurated with the passage of the US vessel and passenger ship. 
California and Oregon in the 19th century was the initial impetus of the US desire to build an artificial waterway across Central America. The construction on a sea-level canal begain in 1881. But, unfortunately because of the financial problems and some dissents, the construction stopped. 

In 1909 construction proper began agian. And finally, on August 15, 1914, the Panama Canal was opened to traffic.
