The Indo-Pakistani War started on September 6, 1965. When India crossed Pakistani border in Punjab and arrived in Batapur, Pakistani army was not even prepared for war. Pakistani Army was not having any intentions to cross the international border.

The seventeen-day war caused thousands of casualties on both sides and also witnessed the largest tank battle since World War II. Both India and Pakistan claimed victory. Many details of  Indo-Pakistani Wars remain unclear. In Pakistan defense day is celebrated on 6 September.
